Silken Windhounds
The Silken Windhound is a rare American sighthound breed. I was first attracted to Silkens by their elegance and soft, gentle temperaments. I realized quickly that Silkens are extraordinary dogs. They are extremely loving, loyal, and comical companions. Our dogs are an integral part of our family and have brought us immeasurable joy. There is nothing as soothing as a Silken curled at your side or in your lap.
We stay busy showing in conformation events and hope to become involved in racing events in the near future. Silken Windhounds are recognized by UKC
and may be shown in UKC, IABCA and ICKC conformation events and, of course, in
ISWS specialties. This very versatile
breed is also eligible to attend ASFA lure coursing events, LGRA straight
racing events, NOTRA oval racing events as well as participate in NOFCA open
field coursing.
Our goal is to selectively breed the best possible examples of our breed so that others may know the joy that a Silken may bring into their home. This will not take place until our dogs are of appropriate age and fully health tested. Our Silkens come from some of the finest breeders in the USA
